Adolescent's Therapy.

As their minds and bodies develop quickly, many t(w)eens find adolescence to be some of the most challenging years of their lives. Our therapists teach healthy ways to navigate this important, emotionally intense time.

4 Ways Therapy Can Help.

Develop Insight.

Whether it’s approaching life with more confidence, coping with stress in healthier ways or building stronger friendships, we ask our teen clients to focus on the life they wish to have and then work together on strategies for making that happen.

Empower Changes.

We provide guidance, strategies and skills to help teens make successful changes. We give them a safe place to dream, plan and try something new as well as to share disappointments, struggles, and frustrations when they face obstacles or setbacks.

Encourage Self-Reflection.

We help teens look inward and think honestly about their values and priorities. This reflection empowers teens to formulate the best foundation for their therapeutic process.

Discover Strengths.
We look at how the teen has successfully managed difficult situations in the past and how they can apply those strengths to their current situation.

What to Expect from Adolescent Therapy.

As specialists in all things teen, our primary goal is to help tweens and teens find a safe space to explore feelings, identify new ways to understand and solve problems, and develop healthy coping skills to deal with the challenges of daily life.

At Clinical Insights we believe that experience truly matters when working with young people. As seasoned clinicians we combine decades of experience to make sure adolescents and their unique perspectives are the focus of treatment.

Typically teens attend weekly 50-minute therapy sessions; however, we can accommodate adolescents who need more in-depth help twice a week. Usually, teen counseling sessions continue for at least three months and up to one year. The exact duration of counseling depends on the complexity of your teen’s concerns and we will discuss the recommended length of therapy in session. There are certain sessions parents and adolescents will attend together and other times where the parents or teen will meet alone with the therapist. This allows our youth therapists to get an accurate picture of the situation and help the entire family reap the benefits of counseling.

To understand ourselves and our life is the point of insight meditation: to understand and to be free.

How We Work

How We Work.

  • How do I get started?
The first step is to give us a call at: 973-348-5919 or email us at: insights@clinicalcounseling.net. If we are unavailable at that moment, you will absolutely get a call back within 1-2 business days. The point of this brief phone consultation is to understand your goals for treatment. At this time we will coordinate availability and schedule an intake session and/or provide you with referrals to other providers or services that may be helpful for your situation.
  • Are you in office or virtual?
Clinical Insights continues to offer in-person sessions and secure video sessions for patients as we navigate COVID-19.We are offering safe and sanitary office appointments following CDC guidelines in our Basking Ridge office AND virtual appointments on a HIPAA-secure video platform for individuals or couples who are looking to meet with their therapist in the comfort of their own home!
  • Do you accept insurance?
Like most private practitioners, the specialists at Clinical Insights are out-of-network providers. That means we do not accept insurance directly. However, we make the reimbursement process as turnkey as possible by providing all the necessary paperwork, including receipts and diagnosis codes, in a timely fashion.
  • Will I get reimbursed?
It is our experience that most patients are reimbursed for 50 to 80% off the cost of their sessions if they have out-of-network mental health coverage. It is helpful to call individual insurance providers to determine your level of coverage in advance. Most are pleasantly surprised.
  • Do you have any sliding-scale or pro-bono therapy slots?
Clinical Insights, LLC offers some sliding-scale and pro-bono therapy services, as needed. Each specialist has a set number of sliding scale and pro-bono spots, and these positions are typically income-based. To inquire further about fee-reduction services, or for appropriate referrals, please contact us.
  • How long does therapy last?
That is up to you! Some clients would like a speedy resolution to a problem. Six or fewer sessions may be enough to understand the problem from the therapist’s trained perspective, collaborate with the therapist to uncover the solutions available to you, and approach the problem with a trial-and-error strategy. Other clients prefer to take their time and explore/examine their lives in the past and present. For both approaches to have the best outcome, collaboration, communication, and a relationship between the therapist and the client are critical.
